Ruth is an Irish mother and grandmother.

In her career she has worked as a nurse, in childcare and, for the last

number of years, as a teacher of literacy and English in Adult Education.

Ruth has been writing and telling children’s stories since the 1970’s.

Mr. Wisscoccally is her very first children’s novel.

Ruth says:

'Hi. I loved writing Mr. Wisscoccally, Adventure in Thorny Wood and -

I love Drogheda, that's the town where I live.

So when I wanted someone to draw pictures for my book and -

print my book and -

record CD's for my book -

I asked Drogheda people and -

they did!

Nobody said 'that's a stupid, horrible story.'

Everyone said,

'That's a great story. I'll draw the pictures, print the pages, record the CD's. . . .'

Amazing people! (See blog 16th June 2018).
